What is Himalayan salt?

Himalayan salt is a type of rock salt mined from inland sources that can be hundreds of millions of years old. The salt mines are located near the Himalayas in Asia, and are mostly found in Pakistan. Himalayan salt is prized for its high mineral content, which also gives it its pink colour.
