Meet the Chef: Lorraine Pascale
Meet TV chef Lorraine Pascale, lover of Châteauneuf du Pape and salt and pepper chicken! What would she buy if we gave her a tenner?
My favourite wine is…
Châteauneuf du Pape, which luckily for me is stocked at one of my favourite local independent shops – Brompton Food Market – just around the corner from where I live in London.
In my fridge there’s always…
Eggs, as they are so versatile.
My favourite 15-minute supper to make at home is…
Salt and pepper chicken with lemon and rice!
My guilty pleasure food is…
Cheese – I can’t resist!
If you gave me a tenner I’d spend it on…
A protein smoothie.
A restaurant trend I see being the next big thing is…
Healthy or health-focused. You can already see it happening in certain restaurants with healthy breakfasts and other alternatives.
On a Sunday I like to…
Shop for great-quality ingredients in my local shops like Andreas Veg on the Fulham Road and cook a big lunch for family and friends. It’s so important to support local independent stores, which is why I’m working with American Express as an ambassador for their Shop Small campaign – it’s a real passion of mine and it’s great to see small shops getting more recognition in the lead-up to Small Business Saturday on 3rd December.
My favourite country to visit for foodie inspiration is…
Australia – it’s so exciting and there’s so much going on.
What are the three most useful ingredients and why?
Eggs – they work for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Chilli flakes– they just make everything taste good.
Butter– it is naughty, but butter makes so many things delicious!
Lorraine Pascale is an American Express Shop Small Ambassador encouraging everyone to shop small on Small Business Saturday. For further information go to www.amexshopsmall.co.uk
