Black velvet cocktail recipe

  • stout beer
    (Guinness is classic, but you can use any stout, as long as it’s not too sweet)
  • chilled champagne
    for topping up

    Method

    • step 1

      Half-fill chilled champagne flutes or highball glasses with stout.

    • step 2

      To get that all-important layer in the cocktail, slowly top up the drink by pouring the champagne over the back of a teaspoon into the glass. Serve.
