- 12 ripe figs
- 50g walnut halves
- 50g buttercubed
- 4 tbsp maple syrup
- to serve mascarpone or vanilla extract

Method
step 1
Heat the oven to 200C/fan 180C/gas 6. Cut a cross into each fig about ¾ of the way down so they fan out a little. Put a cube of butter inside each fig and put in a buttered baking dish.

Scatter the walnuts over and drizzle with maple syrup. Bake for about 20 minutes, glazing with the syrup and butter. Serve 3 figs per person with a dollop of the vanilla mascarpone.
