Homemade spiced venison meatballs with a fresh chopped salad and plenty of hummus, all ready in less than half an hour

- 300g venison mince
- ½ red oniongrated
- 1 garlic clovecrushed
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- ½ tsp ground turmeric
- ½ tsp chilli powder
- handful of corianderfinely chopped
- olive oilfor frying
CHOPPED SALAD
- 2 tomatoesdiced
- ¼ cucumberdiced
- ½ red oniondiced
- ½ lemonjuiced
- 1 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
- handful of mint leavestorn
TO SERVE
- hummus
- coriander leaves
- puffy flatbreads
- chilli sauce

Method
step 1
Put the mince in a bowl with the onion, garlic, spices and coriander. Season generously, then mix everything together really well. Roll into 20 meatballs.

Toss together the salad ingredients.

Heat a frying pan with a little oil, then cook the meatballs for 10 mins or until browned on all sides and cooked through. Serve the meatballs with the salad, flatbreads and other accompaniments.
