This easy Japanese-inspired tuna dish is ready in just 15 minutes. Tataki refers to the preparation method which can either mean chopped with garnishes like ginger, or in this case, seared very quickly.

- 2 tuna steaks
- 1 tsp black peppercornscoarsely ground or cracked
- 150g soba noodles or wheat noodlescooked following the packet instructions
- 2 spring onionsshredded
- 1 tbsp groundnut oil
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1 tsp soy sauce
- 1 clove garlicgrated
- grated to make 1 tbsp ginger

Method
step 1
Rub the tuna with the black pepper and sear in a hot nonstick pan for 1 minute on each side, you just want to cook the very outside. Rest for a couple of minutes and then slice into strips. Put the noodles into 2 bowls and add half the tuna strips to each. Top with a pile of spring onion shreds. Mix the remaining ingredients together and spoon over the tuna and noodles.
