- grated gruyère cheese

Method
step 1
Make a sandwich of thick white bread filled with grated gruyère and chopped spring onion.
step 2
Butter the outsides of the sandwich then fry in a non-stick pan until crisp and golden and the cheese is melty.
step 3
Cut off the crusts then cut into little squares and serve on top of hot tomato soup.
