Ingredients
- 1 large onion, grated
- a good pinch dried chilli flakes
- 2 tsp fennel seeds, toasted and crushed slightly
- for frying oil
- 1 apple, grated
- 100g fresh breadcrumbs
- 6 herby pork sausages, skins removed
Method
- STEP 1
Heat the oven to 200c/fan 180c/gas 6. Fry the onion, chilli and fennel in a little oil until the onion is softened.
- STEP 2
Cool a little, then mix with the apple, breadcrumbs and sausagemeat. Season well, pile into an ovenproof dish and rough up the surface with the back of a fork.
- STEP 3
Cook for 40 minutes until the top is golden brown and crusty.
