Best Lavazza coffee machines and accessories to buy in 2023
We've done a deep dive into the world of Lavazza coffee machines and accessories to make it easy for you - read on for our guide to tried-and-tested products
In 1895, Luigi Lavazza opened his first store in Turin, Italy and his study of roasting and blending coffee beans has helped shape popular coffee culture today. The brand is now as known for its coffee machines as it is for its coffee beans and blends – and the business is still family-run.
The A Modo Mio collection of coffee pod machines sits at the heart of Lavazza's branded equipment. This pre-portioned method of brewing removes the need to grind, dose and tamp loose coffee grounds allowing for a quicker, richer shot without the mess.
And Lavazza coffee pods differ from others like Nespresso and ESE in a few ways – namely the shape, as coffee pods aren’t one-size-fits-all, but also that the grounds are compacted inside the pod, much like you tamp loose coffee grounds for making espresso. This allows for a more even pre-infusion and extraction of espresso, reliably topped with a caramel-coloured crema.
Compostable eco caps are suitable for putting in your food waste – an essential step for any coffee brand that cares about its carbon footprint and the environmental impact of waste created by coffee pods.
We’ve tested the entire Lavazza coffee machine collection to bring you our top-rated favourites, along with its milk frothers, coffee grinders, accessories and coffee.

How to choose a Lavazza coffee machine
There are a few things to consider when choosing the right machine for your home and budget.
- How much space do you have? Coffee pod machines are some of the most compact types around, but some are taller than others depending on the size of their handles.
- What's your budget? All of the Lavazza coffee machines we tested made good coffee, so you don't have to spend a bomb in order to get good espresso.
- Your preferred coffee types? If traditional coffees like cappuccino and lattes are your preference, you could consider buying a milk steamer to accompany the coffee pod machine.
- App and WiFi connectivity: Some of these machines are smart home compatible and offer voice-control. The Voicy coffee machine even connects to Amazon Alexa.
