Little Gin Box gin subscription review
For a great value monthly gin delivery, we tested out the Little Gin Box gin subscription service
We tested the best gin subscription services to get gin delivered direct to your door. Read on for our full review of the Little Gin Box gin subscription service.
Little Gin Box is a great value non-committal gin subscription service, sourcing gins from small artisan distillers. The super affordable gin subscription, from just £10 a month, offers two carefully selected 50ml gins each month. Twin brand Little Rum Box offers the same service with high quality rums, if rum is more your bag.
Ordering the subscription is easy, with rolling or fixed (3, 6 or 12 months) subscription options and the ability to cancel any time. For an extra £12.50, your first box will come with six gins instead of two – a bargain and a great way to start your gin journey. There’s also the opportunity to buy a premium version via Buyagift, where each box comes with three gins and three accompanying garnishes.
Our boxes had minimal packaging with all recyclable cardboard, with the gins securely packed flat in mini pizza-style boxes. The gins come in 50ml glass bottles, clearly labelled with the gin brand and alcohol percentage.
We really liked that this subscription includes a mixture of both classic and flavoured gins, so there’s good variety to explore. Our box came with a pretty Misty Isle pink gin, infused with raspberries, pear, meadowsweet and blackcurrants, all harvested from the distillery garden on the Isle of Skye. We also enjoyed a smooth Atlantic Spirits lemon & thyme gin, infused with lemon balm and two local thymes from the Devon-based distillery. Each gin comes with a little tasting card showing the full bottle of gin, details about the brand and notes, a best serve suggestion and space to rate the gin out of five. If you particularly enjoy any samples, full size bottles are available to buy from their well-stocked gin shop.
This is brilliant value for money for a non-committal way to try out new gins and discover unique small brands. It’s perfect if you don’t want to invest lots and don’t need all the added extras, just focusing on sampling new gins and some inspiration for your Friday night G&T. The fixed term subscriptions would also make very sweet gifts.
